Storch and the environment

People have been using fire to provide heat for thousands of years. However, a lot has changed since the time of the open fires used by our ancestors. The natural cycle

Burning wood produces a similar amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) to the decomposition of wood in a forest. The environment is therefore not burdened by excessive carbon dioxide production. This means that burning wood does not increase the greenhouse effect like other fossil fuels - coal, oil or gas. Furthermore, wood is a renewable energy source, while coal, oil and gas have limited supplies.

Protecting the environment – several useful tips from the manufacturer Storch

It can certainly be said that it is every user’s responsibility to ensure that they use their stove or insert correctly and without endangering the environment. To achieve this goal, we would like to remind you of the following principles:

Make sure that the fireplace stove or insert is correctly installed, in compliance with the manufacturer’s recommendations.
Before using the fireplace stove or insert for the first time, make sure to carefully read the operating manual.
Avoid burning any type of prohibited fuel or waste, such as beverage containers, plastic, chemically treated wood, etc. Only use wood for heating.
Only use dry wood for heating, with a moisture content not exceeding 20%.
Do not stoke more wood than listed in the operating manual (see maximum amount of fuel in the technical data sheet).
Air is essential to ensure ecological and economical combustion, so always ensure there is sufficient air intake.
Heating overnight is not good for the environment or it’s not very economical. The combustion of wood with reduced air intake significantly reduces heat production and increases the amount of smoke produced, which damages both your chimney and the environment.
Do not underestimate regular maintenance of the heating unit, follow the instructions in the operating manual and the dealer’s recommendations. This will ensure your stove operates correctly and minimizes the negative impact on the environment.
