A success story
Storch Kamine GmbH with its registered office in Fürth (Central Franconia) was founded in November 2003 as a premium brand and subsidiary of one of the largest manufacturers of fireplace stoves in Europe. The first fire was lit on 26 February 2004 at Ofen Götz in Amberg (Upper Palatinate) in a black “Vesuv” fireplace stove with serial number 0001 and striking orange-yellow tiles. The sale of the first Storch fireplace stove (Vesuv model) the same day based on its design and combustion technology aroused great enthusiasm. As a proud memento of that day, a fire has been kept burning in the Vesuv 0001 fireplace stove in the exhibition area at Amberg to this day. Ferdinand Götz was not only Storch’s first business partner, but also its friend and advisor. In 2005, utilizing his experience in the field of fireplace stoves and soapstone, he helped us make “the big jump” and contributed to Storch’s new identity with HLS exterior facing (Himalayan accumulation stone, limonite), which had not been used in fireplace stoves before. The exceptionally fine, beautiful texture and masterful processing of this new stone was immediately noticed and well-received by consumers. Other manufacturers started using this new type of sandstone for their fireplace stoves soon after. However, our original has yet to meet its match. In 2008, the company’s administrative headquarters moved from Fürth to Großhabersdorf. Today, Storch is no longer the new kid on the block, but rather a constant presence in the field of fireplace stoves, and its wide range of attractive products is represented throughout Europe.
